Multidisciplinary Dance Artist
My Name is Shiri Sabah Teicher.I am an interdisciplinary choreographer working at the intersection of artistic research and social engagement.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the choreography of being human — to the way the body carries memory, emotion, history, and resilience. I am interested in how movement can hold complex realities and still remain intimate and accessible.
In my creative processes, I often bring together professional dancers and non-dancers. This is both an artistic choice and a social commitment. I believe each body carries knowledge and lived experience. My role is to create a holding space and provide tools that enable each person to discover and express their own inner landscape through movement.
My projects are often multidisciplinary, integrating movement, visual art, and music. I am interested in how transitions between nonverbal mediums can reveal additional layers of perception and make the work more inclusive.

"A Fish and a Bow" (2024)
A multidisciplinary dance work performed by a dancer-performer who plays violin
Having been educated from a very young age in "high" culture — through classical music training, participation in summer camps for young musicians, and attendance at countless illustrated concerts — I embark on a personal journey of exposure, of shedding, and of drawing closer to what lies within and beyond the shell of the instrument and the shell of formal, achievement-oriented, intellectualized judgment in which both audience and performers exist. The solo uses the possibility of moving between instruments, between languages — again and again — until the boundary between them blurs. The violin and the body are the means through which expression, desire, and anxiety flow, resonate, and find their way toward encounter. The work invites both performer and audience into a shared process of searching for sources of inspiration and exploring the roots of creation. The work includes a bows installation.
The work was performed at the "Kelim" Center, Bat Yam; at the "The Mill for Civic Culture," Sha'ar HaAmakim; and in the "Sfira" dance series in Klil,Israel.

"Rashomon of Eyelids" (2023)
An accessible video dance performance raising questions about watching dance, language, movement, and human encounter.
At the center of the work, "Rashomon of Eyelids" is a video installation presenting six solos by visually impaired and blind dancers. The audience — sighted and non-sighted alike — is invited into a unique performance space that uses audio, textual, and musical accessibility to create new connections and experiences of watching. By its very nature, the performance is also adapted for visually impaired and blind audiences. The work is a development of materials created within the framework of the project "Mutual Gaze" — made in collaboration with the "Instruments" Center, Bat Yam, and in partnership with the Marsh"al Center, Tel Aviv-Jaffa.

"You Should Hug Me More" (2019)
A duet exploring themes of conversation, listening, and presence.
The work premiered at the "Exposed in the Studio" evening as part of the residency program at Yasmeen Godder Studio.
Throughout the work, the dancers contend with performative and spatial constraints that require an inward connection to themselves while simultaneously demanding outward listening. These constraints generate moments that move between intimacy, sharing, and empathy on the one hand, and disconnection, absorption, and loneliness on the other. The work asks whether we have a way of being "truly" present with another person's experience, and what happens to presence and movement when it exists within acts of listening. The work drew inspiration from moments of support and listening that took place in the project "Moving Community" — dance classes for people living with Parkinson's disease, at Yasmeen Godder Studio.

In My Eyes (2018)
A dance and performance work for 9 visually impaired performers and 2 dancers, developed within the community-based project “Mutual Gaze” in collaboration with the Kelim Choreography Center and MARSHAL.
The work explores personal narratives of visual impairment and interrogates cultural myths and representations of blindness. It brings together the magical and the mundane, blurring and dismantling their boundaries.
Audience members included blind and visually impaired spectators.
The performance was made accessible through audio description via headphones,
with support from the Central Library for the Blind in Tel Aviv.
Premiered at the Kelim Choreography Center, Bat Yam.

עלה בבכורה בערב "חשוף בסטודיו" במסגרת תכנית הרזידנסי בסטודיו יסמין גודר. דואט לשני רקדנים הנובע מתוך מחקר תנועתי אודות ראיה. תהליך היצירה היווה מחקר אמנותי גופני תומך ומשלים במקביל למפגשים במסגרת פרויקט "מבט הדדי". היצירה נוגעת בשליטה ואיבוד שליטה, חישה ותנועה שאינה מבוססת על ראייה והשפעת הראייה על תנועה במרחב.
